Bit-tech.net has posted a really interesting article, Staying Independent[^], by Mark Morris of Introversion[^]. Where he shares his thoughts about why Introversion ended up going Indie and why they don’t plan to change that fact.

It’s a nice read and I recognize myself in a lot of the reasons why they decided to go Indie.

“When we first set out to write video games we knew the damage that publishers could do both to games themselves, and the people writing them, and we were not willing to let that happen to us. In order to ensure our creative freedom, we had to be independent from publishers and license holders,”

    So true. Soooo true.

I believe if you’re gonna make original games, not copies of what everyone else just made, only with better graphics, stay independent. Bah.

    Oh yes!

That is also one of the reasons why I decided from the start to make Kybernesis an Independent company.
I don’t want a big brother breathing down my neck making demands that will break my game and/or company…
